Calculator Methodology & FAQs
How does the Steam Market Fee calculation work? +
Steam deducts a total 15% transaction fee on all War of Genesis: Idle Loot market sales: 5% Steam platform fee and 10% game publisher fee, subject to a minimum $0.02 fee. If you list an item for $1.00, you receive $0.87. If you list for $0.05, you receive $0.03.
When is it profitable to forge 3 items instead of selling them? +
Forging 3 items is profitable whenever the expected net value of the upgraded item (after 15% Steam fees) exceeds the combined net sale value of the 3 base items. For low-tier commons (Tier 3 under $0.08), forging is almost always mathematically superior because Steam minimum fees heavily erode micro-sales.
How much in-game Gold is needed to craft a Gold Bar? +
A Gold Bar represents approximately 250,000 in-game gold coins. Farmed passively through stage waves, it serves as the primary bridge converting AFK play time into tradeable Steam Wallet currency ($9.50–$10+ USD floor).
What stage gives the highest farming yield? +
The highest stage bracket your hero can clear in under 20–25 seconds yields the optimal gold and EXP per hour. Pushing to a higher stage that doubles your clear time often results in a net 30% reduction in hourly loot drops.
