Gear Tier List & Progression

Every piece of gear your hero drops carries a (Tier N) suffix, and that suffix is the single thing that decides whether the item is worth listing, forging, or ignoring. This is the whole tier system, without the jargon.

Which tiers exist — and which are tradeable

The live catalog on the board shows gear from Tier 3 up to Tier 6. Tier 1 and Tier 2 drops cannot be listed on the Steam Community Market at all — they never appear on the market board. Their only real use is as forge fodder at the Blacksmith, where lower-tier pieces are combined into higher-tier gear. If a drop has no tradable market presence, it is almost certainly Tier 1–2.

Why each tier jump multiplies the price

The tier ladder multiplies both the item's combat stats and its market value at the same time. On the September 2026 snapshot this lands as a wide spread:

  • Tier 3–4: the high-volume, low-price band — most of the catalog, trading from cents up to a few dollars. Saturated Tier 3 commons often have hundreds of listings under $0.10.
  • Tier 5: the mid-tier sweet spot — genuinely desirable drops that still move, with prices typically in the low single digits.
  • Tier 6: the top of the ladder — the priciest gear on the board, ranging from the tens of dollars up toward ~$190 depending on rolled affixes and slot.

Gear Tier Progression & Value Multiplier Matrix

Tier 1 & Tier 2 Untradeable $0.00 (Soulbound) 100% Forge Fodder at Blacksmith
Tier 3 (Rare) Tradeable $0.03 – $0.20 High volume; forge commons, sell jewels
Tier 4 (Epic) Tradeable $0.15 – $2.50 Sell rare slots (Cloaks/Shields); combine duplicates
Tier 5 (Legendary) Tradeable $1.50 – $8.00 Primary income sweet spot; list on market
Tier 6 (Apex Milestone) Apex Tradeable $15.00 – $190.00+ Price with patience; single-seller leverage

Tier 6 End-Game BiS Equipment & Market Index

Tier 6 (T6) represents the absolute pinnacle of combat stats, market liquidity, and account scaling in War of Genesis: Idle Loot. Beyond unlocking core Steam achievements ("Is This Gear Even Balanced?" and "Not Synthesis—A Miracle"), Tier 6 pieces are the lifeblood of the end-game Relic System: dismantling or combining T6 items produces Mythic-grade materials required to forge permanent, account-wide stat buffs.

Below is the verified index of the top Tier 6 weapons, armor, and BiS (Best-in-Slot) accessories trading on the live Steam Community Market. Click any item to inspect its real-time order depth, spread, and sale history:

High-Demand Special Jewels (Socket Optimization)

Tier 6 sockets require high-purity gems to unlock their theoretical maximum. In the current market, Special Jewels offer the highest stat density per socket and maintain exceptional liquidity on the Steam Community Market:

Jewel Name Primary Stat Market Price Open Listings Recommended Use Case
Special Jewel of Luck Drop Rate & Magic Find $2.95 12 listed AFK Farming Builds (Maximizes T4–T6 stage drops)
Special Jewel of Strife Flat Attack & Physical DPS $2.25 33 listed Knight & Ranger weapon sockets (Fastest stage clear)
Special Jewel of Wind Attack Speed & Cooldown $1.26 42 listed Procs on-hit weapon passives and lifesteal triggers
Special Jewel of Fortitude Armor & Phys Damage Reduction $1.05 41 listed Stage 90+ Boss anti-one-shot defensive mitigation
Special Jewel of Life Maximum Health Pool $0.80 63 listed Universal survival buffer for all 4 hero archetypes

How to use this when you get a drop

  1. Note the (Tier N) suffix first. No Tier 3+ suffix → it is forge material, stop here.
  2. Find the drop's tier siblings on the board (filter by tier). A Tier 4 item should be priced against other Tier 4 items, not a flashy Tier 6 lookalike.
  3. Read the listed count. A Tier 5 with two listings is a seller's market; the same tier with fifty listings means undercutting wins the sale.
  4. If it is a saturated Tier 3 common, weigh the forge-vs-sell formula before you spend a market slot on it.

Tiers and the forge

The Blacksmith forge is how the lower ladder feeds the upper one: combining low-tier duplicates can roll into higher-tier gear. This is the legitimate reason to hold onto Tier 3 commons instead of listing them — see Market Pricing Basics for how depth changes the math.

Common questions on this guide

Which tiers are tradeable on the Steam Market? +

Only Tier 3 and above. Tier 1 and Tier 2 drops exist in the bag but cannot be listed on the Steam Community Market — they are forge/fodder, not saleable. This is why every tradable item on the board starts at Tier 3.

How does tier affect the price? +

It is the single biggest multiplier. Each tier step up multiplies both the item's stats and its market price. On the live board, Tier 3–4 gear mostly sits in the cents-to-a-few-dollars band, while Tier 6 pieces reach well into the tens of dollars. Always find a drop's tier siblings before pricing it.

Should I keep or forge low-tier gear? +

Tier 1 and Tier 2 cannot be sold at all, so they are forge material. Saturated Tier 3 commons with hundreds of sub-$0.10 listings are usually better combined at the Blacksmith than listed. Check the live depth on the board before you decide either way.

What makes Tier 6 gear so valuable? +

Tier 6 represents maximum end-game combat stats and is required for two core Steam achievements. Furthermore, dismantling T6 gear at the Blacksmith produces Mythic materials used to upgrade permanent account-wide Relics, giving them high salvage value even with suboptimal rolls.

How can I equip Tier 6 gear earlier? +

Tier 6 items normally require character level 60–80+. Players routinely slot Wisdom jewels (level requirement reduction) into their gear to equip Tier 6 weapons and armor 10–15 levels before the natural threshold, creating massive damage spikes.
